I'm so excited to share my summer activities.
At the beginning of the summer, I applied to be a medical assistant at Dr. Nickeey Malcolm's Pediatric office. However, I didn't follow up since I was shadowing, traveling for a conference, and planning my trip to Honduras.
After the QuestBridge conference and my healthcare trip to Honduras. I noticed an email from Dr. Malcolm. I was super excited to have the opportunity to work with her even if it was only for a month. I quickly reached back out. I even called her several times but knew this wouldn't be the best way to secure the position. Today, August 2nd, 2023, I went into the office a little before lunchtime and asked to talk to the doctor about the medical assistant position.
We bonded over our love for personal finance, books, and business. She showed me some keynotes such as.....
Do as many practice exams as possible
Read "The Simple Path to Wealth" by J. L. Collins
Your first day of medical school buy and read "First Aid for the USMLE Step 1"
It's okay to have a family while studying to be a doctor
Learn as much about business if you want to open your own practice
